We recently had the chance to try out JVC’s new Picsio HD camcorder (GC-WP10). This pocket camcorder features a simple-to-navigate touchscreen interface, shoots in 1080p HD clarity and also serves as a still camera and digital audio recorder. However, the best part is the Picsio’s waterproof capabilities. JVC claims it’s good to depths of 10′ (or 3 meters, depending on where you are in the world). While we couldn’t go snorkeling with it just yet, we were able to take it out during a December blizzard (where we got about 3′ of snow!) to try out the Picsio’s waterproof durability. Let’s just say we were snowed over by it’s performance!
And here are some still photos taken from the Picsio’s 5 megapixel camera:
Overall, we were very happy with the Picsio’s performance. It retails for under $200 USD, and all things considered, for a pocket sized camcorder, JVC’s Picsio GC-WP10 can hang with the competition.
