Seeing Nature With Kids: Ritter Farm Park, Lakeville, MN

As summer gives way to fall, my kids and I have been venturing outside of our neighborhood walking routine and checking out the hiking paths at Ritter Farm Park in Lakeville, MN. This 340-acre park offers more than eight miles of hiking and equestrian trails. For me, it offers a chance to slip into nature and listen to the wind rustle the leaves, while introducing grassroots exploring to my kids – literally.

Minnesota is expecting an above average year for leaf colors, and Ritter Farm Park features several breathtaking views that literally leave you speechless.

My son, who typically is bubbling over with something to say, actually keeps his voice down and observes. My baby, June, rides in her backpack carrier and giggles whenever she sees a bird, a bug or anything fun to look at.

For me, the memories we’re making together will live forever in my mind and push me to explore more of the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
